Ethical Hacking Internship in Vizag: Fresher Preparation
An ethical hacking internship search in Vizag is easier to approach when you can show a small, clear portfolio. This guide is preparation advice; it does not advertise a current vacancy, paid internship or guaranteed internship at Softenant.
Build a three-piece application pack
| Item | Include | Check before sending |
|---|---|---|
| One-page resume | Education, networking/Linux foundations and accurate lab experience. | Remove tools you cannot explain; label projects as training work. |
| Portfolio index | Two or three project links with objective, environment and outcome. | Links open without exposing private documents or credentials. |
| Short report sample | Scope, finding, evidence, remediation and retest plan. | Use fictional records and redacted screenshots. |
Example resume bullets
Use a statement you can support, such as: “Created an inventory of services on an authorised lab VM and compared expected exposure with observations.” Another example is: “Documented a fictional web access-control finding with impact, remediation and positive/negative retest cases.” Adapt these only to work you actually completed.
Avoid calling a training lab a client engagement or describing yourself as an experienced penetration tester after copying a walkthrough. Explain your contribution, the permitted environment and what you learned when the result differed from expectations.
Questions to ask an internship provider
- Who supervises the work and reviews reports?
- Which systems and activities are explicitly authorised?
- What hours, location and duration are expected?
- Is there a stipend, fee or other cost, and what are the written terms?
- What are the learning tasks and completion requirements?
- What information may appear in a portfolio afterward?
Request a clear description before committing time. Training enrolment, placement assistance and an internship offer are different arrangements. Check the organisation and the actual role details; never treat an instruction to test an unrelated website as adequate authorisation.
A concise application message
Hello [team], I am applying for the [role] internship. I have practised networking, Linux and web-security foundations in training labs. My portfolio includes [project] and a short finding report. I can explain the scope, evidence and remediation in each example. Please let me know the role requirements, supervision and schedule. Portfolio: [link]
Prepare for the first technical conversation
Choose one project and explain it in two minutes. Start with the objective and permission, describe the observation and validation, then give the fix and one limitation. Be ready to explain a false positive, an open port, authentication versus authorisation and how you would respond to an out-of-scope issue.
Use a simple application tracker
Record organisation, role URL, application date, requirements, contact, next action and outcome. Review whether missing foundations or unclear project explanations recur in feedback. Improve one specific skill between applications instead of adding unsupported claims to the resume.
For web practice, use dedicated environments such as the PortSwigger Web Security Academy. Public portfolios should contain your own explanation and permitted evidence, with no real client data.
